Matthew Carlson - President

Matthew is the President of both Fix It Forward Ministry and Fix It Forward Auto Care. A self-proclaimed “car guy”, Matthew quit his day job of 15 years, as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, to run the Ministry and Fix It Forward Auto Care full-time.

When not working at Fix It Forward, you can find him playing with old cars or spending time with his wife and four kids.

Jeremy Jensen - Vice President

Jeremy is Vice President of Fix It Forward Ministry and Co-Founder of Fix It Forward Auto Care. Jeremy is a Principal Software Architect at Microsoft, starting back in 1999 with Great Plains Software.

Jeremy has always had a passion for cars and helping others. When not working at Microsoft or leveraging his passions at the Ministry and Fix It Forward Auto Care, Jeremy is active in his church and enjoys spending time with his wife and two great kids and camping. He enjoys tinkering on cars, woodworking and in general, building things.

Tommy Lee - Program Coordinator Moorhed

Tommy is a Fargo native, who grew up working on cars as a hobby. He has worked at Gateway and Fargo Tire as well as most recently Drayton Foods as a Controls Specialist for the past 12 years. Tommy always has some project car he is tinkering on in his garage or helping a friend out with their vehicle.

When not working, Tommy likes spending time with his family and friends enjoying sporting events, the lakes and of course working on cars, jet skis, boats or any toy he can get his hands on.

Kenny Heimdahl - Program Coordinator Fargo

Kenny is a native of Des Moines, IA. He attended MSCTC in Moorhead where he graduated with an Associates Degree in Automotive Service.

He has nine years experience in a local GM dealership before moving to a local Forklift/Material Handling company as a road service technician where he worked for an additional three years before coming to Fix It Forward.

Kenny was one of the first Technicians hired at Fix It Forward Auto Care in Moorhead back in 2018.

He is ASE Certified.“I love all things automotive, in my spare time you can find me working on my project car or spending time at the lakes all year round.”

Stephen Dorsey - Marketing Director

Stephen serves on the Board of Directors at Fix It Forward Ministry. His primary responsibility is marketing and communications for both the Ministry and Fix It Forward Auto Care.

Stephen is a professional Graphic/Web Designer with over 30 years of industry experience in brand development, print design and website design. He is owner of Dorsey Design Services.

Time outside of Fix It Forward is spent with his wife and three children. Stephen enjoys a good metal guitar riff and all things custom cars.

Travis Hopkins - Public Outreach Coordinator

Travis is the Outreach Coordinator for Fix It Forward Ministry. His primary focus is to help the Ministry connect with the community, build relationships, and form partnerships.

Travis also assists with social media marketing and content creation for both Fix It Forward Auto Care and Fix It Forward Ministry.

Outside of Fix It Forward Travis host's a local award winning radio show Monday - Friday on 95.9 KRFF. He's worked in media, marketing, and event coordinating for 15 years.

In Travis' free time you can probably find him enjoying an iced coffee somewhere, spending time with his wife, cuddling with their dog, and attending pow wows.

Ryan Jonasson - Technology Coordinator

Ryan is a volunteer at Fix It Forward Ministry, starting by helping with car repairs. He now serves as the Technology Coordinator for Fix It Forward, helping the rest of the team operate efficiently with the tools available.

He has 20 years of experience in computer industries, currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Microsoft.

He is married with three children, and in his fleeting spare time, is very involved with his daughter's BSA Scout troop.

Howard Fulks - Treasurer

Howard is a volunteer at Fix It Forward Ministry, focusing on taxes and nonprofit reporting.

He holds CPA and CITP certifications as a technical accountant, and has focused on analytics and information platforms during his long career in technology. He is currently working as a Director of Analytics at R.D. Offutt Company, where he heads a team of analytics, data science, database administration, and information architecture professionals.

He is married to his wife Kathy with three adult children. In his free time, Howard loves to spend time with their grandchildren, and is passionate about his faith life and serving those in need.

Steven Ystebo - Development Director

Steven's role is fundraising and establishing supportive partnerships throughout the FM community and beyond to share in our goal of helping individuals conquer life by hurtling the final barrier to thriving independence, transportation.

When he is not working with the Ministry, you can find him spending time with his wife and three children, finding fun at the lake, downhill skiing somewhere in the Rockies, and most importantly wanting others to discover the saving hope he has in Jesus.

This organization is amazing! They most definitly live up to their mission.
