DONATE MONEY

Jeremy Jensen, August 29 2022

Car #364 donated at Moorhead Cruise Night.

A great story that really highlights the importance of our Ministry. This Dodge Dakota went to a young man working with the Fargo VA Hospital since mid-July 2021. Their programs focus on housing, and they have an employment specialist on their team. When he arrived in town, they assisted to get him into a shelter, get a housing voucher and lease with a landlord, and employment.

Once he started working, he began working with their team to look at schooling options. He took a leave from his employment to attend full time school training program for welding and is scheduled to graduate in the next month. He already has a few job offers in his field of training once he graduates.

He had a traumatic childhood and joined the service as soon as he was able. He finished service and came to this area as the Fargo VA has a good reputation nationwide for service and resources. He came here to get a fresh start away from his childhood friends and family. He was not previously homeless before coming to Fargo as he came straight from the Army. He has not had a vehicle since arriving in Fargo, utilizing the bus, a bicycle when weather and distance allows, walking, and cab/Ubers when he had the funds. He is currently attending welding school fulltime with offers of full-time employment at graduation.

By receiving this vehicle, it would allow him to easier maintain employment/schooling as well as stay engaged with his healthcare providers. We hope this donation helps this young Veteran stay on the road towards success.

Big thanks to the volunteer team that made the minimal repairs and to the previous owner for the vehicle donation. Also big thanks to Moorhead Business Association for letting us present this vehicle at a great Moorhead event.God's blessings!
