Car #375 has been donated. This nice sedan went to a lady working with the YWCA Cass Clay.
She has recently moved from a homeless shelter to her own apartment. Her primary barrier to finding/obtaining employment was transportation. The donation of this vehicle will empower her by gaining independence and not relying on others or the bussing systems to make it to her job, medical appointments, or getting food.
She has medical conditions that make it hard to walk long distances, and the bus systems don’t always reach her place of employment or operate during her work hours. She hasn’t had a vehicle in over ten years but maintained a driver’s license but just couldn’t afford to save for a vehicle.
Big thanks to the local family who decided to donate this vehicle after finding out it needed a large number of repairs. With our amazing volunteer labor team, we were able to make it road worthy again.
