DONATE MONEY

Jeremy Jensen, August 29 2022

Car #342 donation.

This vehicle went to a young woman working with YouthWorks. She is a young mother who has been working hard to provide for herself and her one year-old daughter, to whom she recently was granted full custody.

She works a part time job that is fairly close to her home that does not pay the best. She continues employment at this job because she does not have consistent transportation and so she is able to walk to work when needed. Her daughter attends daycare currently so that she is able to be employed. She struggles getting reliable transportation to bring her daughter to and from daycare. This vehicle will greatly improve her and her daughters’ lives, allowing her to get her daughter to and from daycare much more easily and regularly, and grant her the opportunity to seek better employment in the FM area where she could work more hours and receive better wages.

It will relieve the worry about juggling all her and her daughter’s items on public transportation or receiving inconsistent rides from others.

She has made incredible strides since her time with Youthworks. She has been homeless with no job or work experience and struggling with mental health to getting housings, maintaining her housing, obtaining and continuing employment and addressing and seeking help for her mental health. She became a mother at a young age and did not have a support system. With no parenting assistance, she lost custody of her daughter at a few months old. She is a hard-working and motivated young mother who will greatly benefit from this vehicle donation.

Big thanks to the vehicle donor, giving another member of our community a chance at an improved life. Thanks also to our volunteer team for making the needed repairs and putting the keys in the hands of this deserving young mother.
