This Caravan went to a couple working with the YWCA Cass Clay.
They have both been with the YWCA in their stabilization program that focuses on couples. The stabilization program assists individuals and families with staying successfully housed in their homes after exiting homelessness. They have two children ages two and 10.
The mother came to receive services through YWCA through the stabilization program. She has been in the program for over a year. She was able to find an apartment with her partner where they raise their children. Both parents work hard every day to create a stable living environment for the children and themselves.
They stated that a vehicle would greatly impact them because it would open up more job opportunities. Additionally, it would make things a lot easier when it comes to getting groceries, taking the kids to school and appointments, as well as just getting from place to place without having to worry about a four hour round trip bus ride.
We hope this suitable van will empower this family and keep them on the road to success. We thank the generous family for their donation.
Big thanks to the volunteer labor team that performed the repairs, breathing new life in to this nice Dodge.
Summer continues to challenge our throughput as our volunteer numbers decrease during these months. If you or someone you know would like to join our teams to help put these vehicles in to the hands of these deserving recipients, please visit www.fixitforwardministry.com/volunteer and complete an interest form. We will respond quickly.
God's blessings.
