Car #389 has found a new owner! This nice Saturn Vue with only 58,000 miles was given to us by a local family wanting to see it go into the hands of a deserving Fargo-Moorhead recipient.
The vehicle went to a family working with SENDCAA. They were housed in Moorhead until April of this year when their building was sold, and they had 30 days to find a new place. They were unable to find new housing quickly and are now experiencing homelessness for the first time.
They have been staying with family off and on, but recently had to come to the shelter due to time limits they could stay with family. Both parents are employed and are doing their best to make things work with the bus route or asking for rides, but both have jobs in areas not easily accessed by public transportation.
They are working opposite shifts right now to keep moving forward until they find a new apartment. They have a plan to make that happen and are working towards that goal to be independent on their own once again.Having a vehicle would allow for them to put their youngest in childcare while they work.
ThIs will allow more time together as a family, while continuing to work and support their children, instead of having to work opposite shifts and rarely see each other. We pray that this SUV provides the stability and independence they are seeking and we hope this gift helps lift them out of their current difficult situation.
Huge thanks to the New Life Center and their volunteer crew from their Genesis Recovery Program. These fine gentlemen performed all the work on this vehicle, readying it for this family. We absolutely love their commitment to our mission and we enjoy seeing their smiling faces on our shop days.
