Car #395 has been donated! This nice sedan went to a mother working with the Jeremiah Program, Fargo-Moorhead. This well kept vehicle was donated to us by a local gentleman that wanted it to go a mother in need.
The following is her own beautifully written testimony."I have dreamed of being an American Sign Language Interpreter since I was in 5th grade. Every year I have faced hardships such as food shortages, financial challenges, and general making ends meet difficulties. I have always managed to overcome these obstacles, but it has not been easy.
I am a single mom to a little boy and I am going to college full-time to earn my degree. II have not let these setbacks effect my schooling. I have earned a 4.0 GPA since I started college in Spring of 2021. I will complete my ASL Certificate this Spring 2023 and my Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences in ASL in Fall 2023. I plan to continue with school to earn my bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language Interpreting. I am beyond proud of the progress I’ve made these last couple of years and excited about getting closer to my career.
On September 20, 2022, I was in a car accident where I was side impacted at a four-way intersection The impact was on my passenger side toward the front tire area, and my car flew across the road and into a stop sign. I am so grateful I came out of the accident injury free. Because of the vehicle age and ensuing damage, it was totaled in the accident. I am now borrowing a vehicle from friends, but that can’t continue for too long.
My coach at Jeremiah Program suggested your program as a possibility for help with a new vehicle. It will be very difficult for me to be able to get to my classes and to my work when I can no longer borrow my friend’s car, and I’m worried about losing momentum with the progress I have made. I would be incredibly grateful to be chosen for a vehicle donation and would be proud to represent your program."
We hope this vehicle helps maintain this determined mother's momentum toward self-sufficiency. We pray for her success!
This car was repaired by the Fargo Public Schools South High Automotive Program. A few additional items were completed by our New Life Center Genesis volunteers. We are thankful for everyone's dedication and generosity. finished up with the Genesis and other volunteers.
God's blessings to everyone.
