With this news blog, we want to begin by addressing the global pandemic and pausing to wish each of you good health and wellbeing. We keep you, especially those who are most impacted by the pandemic, in our prayers.
In order to ensure the health and safety of our volunteers, staff, and community members, we have temporarily realigned our energy. We have asked our volunteers to stay home. And, though this brings some sadness and anxiety, because we genuinely love being able to work alongside you in donating vehicles to those most in need, we believe that each of us is charged with safeguarding our neighbors (Matthew 22:39).
Therefore, as we face the challenges of not working side-by-side with our phenomenal volunteers (we miss you!) and as we work to navigate the impact of the necessary closures of business and services that are integral to our work (like the DMV), we will continue to focus our energy on vehicle repairs. Thus far, we have been able to complete over 600 repairs and we trust that, once it is safe to reopen, we will be able to vigorously – and with great joy – continue with our mission to meet the ever-growing transportation needs in our community.
During these unprecedented times we remain thankful. Hopeful. And prayerful. For, we know that “He has made everything beautiful in its time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
