High School shop class impacts students and local community.

The need for reliable transportation in our community continues to grow and, in an effort to continue to assist community members in need, we’ve added some extra minds, hands, and hearts to our volunteer base. We are thrilled to be working with students in the Fargo South High Auto Shop program in our efforts to increasing the number of vehicles we can donate to recipients.

Students came together for some experiential learning and repaired a 2008 Hyundai Sonata GLS. After their amazing work the car was donated to a recipient facing transportation challenges in her search for fulltime employment. Facing the harsh winter weather and multiple bus transfers, the recipient spent much of her daily time and energy simply to meeting transportation needs. This Sonata will allow her to expand her job search and, we hope, add significantly to the quality of her daily life.

Thank you to the students who did an amazing job (more cars are on their way for repair!). Also, thank you to Ed’s Towing Company for making sure the vehicles are safely transported back and forth from school to shop!
